Florida GOP: The Party of Limited Rights and Conspiracy Theories
It has been a busy week for the Florida GOP! Their week has been jampacked full of attempts to diminish OUR rights while pushing their insane and unproven conspiracy theories. In case you missed it in our post earlier this week, the Florida GOP was busted lying about their intentions regarding their Elections bill. The Florida GOP claim the bill is to prevent voter fraud… in the same state that Former President Trump won. Make no mistake, this “bill” is nothing more than an attempt to strip away the rights of American citizens and to rig future elections in their favor. Exposed messages from Florida GOP operatives and lawmakers prove it. Read the article here.
Just today, Governor DeSantis announced his new pick to be Florida’s surgeon general, Dr. Joseph Ladapo. Dr. Ladapo is a well-documented skeptic of mask mandates, lockdowns, and vaccines… essentially, he is against every tool we have to stop or slow the spread of this infectious illness that has killed nearly 52,000 Floridians and counting. He also spends his time urging people to take unproven and disproven medications for Covid-19, such as hydroxychloroquine and farm animal dewormer, invermectin. Apparently, a vaccine developed for this particular illness is less reliable than a product created for deworming farm animals. Dr. Ladapo also spent his first day in office putting Florida’s children at further risk of catching and spreading Covid-19 by leaving it up to parents to decide if their children should be quarantined after being exposed. Finally, Florida Republicans are ending the week by continuing their assault on OUR rights by introducing their own version of Texas’ abortion bill. The bill is nearly identical to Texas’ by allowing random Citizens to be the enforcers of the law and giving them the right to sue anyone for $10,000. The bill does allow exceptions for if the mother’s life is in danger and also changes the word “fetus” to “unborn child.” Read the article here.
It’s a sad week for the former Grand Ole Party. They are no longer the party of limited government but the party of limited rights and life expectancy.
Contact your legislators to let them know to keep Florida’s elections FAIR and OPEN. And let them know that OUR rights are not up for debate and certainly aren’t for sale for $10,000. CONTACT US to learn more about how you can get involved in the Pasco Democrats.
