In the news: Department of Justice opens “intensive review” into Sheriff Nocco’s Predictive Policing Program
Breaking News from the Tampa Bay Times: The U.S. Department of Justice is conducting an “intensive review” of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s latest intelligence program.
“These shortcomings have the unfortunate consequence of eroding trust in the community, rather than building trust,” the Department of Justice letter reads.
The Department of Justice’s review is the latest development in the saga of Sheriff Nocco’s police state. There is also a pending federal lawsuit filed by Pasco residents and various civil liberty groups against the program and a current investigation by the US Department of Education. It looks like Sheriff Nocco will have a lot of explaining to do.
